Return & Trade In Policy

Here at Ralph's Jewelers we want our customer to feel comfortable with their purchase. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your item, we have listed our return and trade in policy below.

Returns
  • 1. Any regular stock item may be returned within 7 days of the date of purchase. Items must be new and unworn condition for refund or store credit. This excludes high karat jewelry, tungsten, loose stones and watches. These items are final sale. 
  • 2. No returns allowed on special orders, sized, personalized, altered, any custom items, financed jewelry or purchases over $1,499, 10K & 14K gold chains, pendants, earrings, bracelet and rings.
  • A 15% restocking fee shall be applied for returned goods 
  • Layaway / Custom Project
  • Layaway/Custom Project Credit is non Transferable or Exchangeable, All Layaway/Custom Project Payments/Deposits are non Refundable
Trade Ins
Ralph's Jewelers has the industry’s most generous and comprehensive upgrade and trade-in policy, created with your future in mind.

Gemstones and Diamonds
For any Ralph diamond, ruby, emerald or sapphire you have, as well as any diamond stud earrings or solitaire pendants you purchase, you’ll receive the full value that you paid as credit toward the purchase of any other gemstone of greater value. All that is required is a minimum one-dollar increase. Wear and tear on gemstones will be deducted from value.
Jewelry
To trade in any qualifying jewelry that was originally purchased at Ralph's, simply spend double the original purchase amount to get full credit of your original purchase. Damaged goods will need to be evaluated to determine their value. If you don’t spend double the purchase price, we will give you 50% of the original value to put towards your new jewelry purchase.

1. Custom Projects, Layaways, and Special Orders

Due to the bespoke nature of custom jewelry and the reservation of specific inventory, the following terms apply to all Custom Work, Layaways, and Special Orders:

  • Non-Refundable Deposits: All deposits and installment payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Liquidated Damages: Pursuant to California Civil Code § 1671, the Customer acknowledges that these payments constitute liquidated damages. These funds compensate Ralph’s Jewelers for specialized labor, procurement of raw materials, and lost opportunity costs incurred by reserving inventory.

  • Final Sale: These items are unique to the customer and cannot be returned, exchanged, or applied as credit toward other orders.

2. Return Policy & Restocking Fees

In accordance with California Civil Code § 1723, our return policy is conspicuously disclosed as follows:

  • Restocking Fee: A 15% Restocking Charge applies to all eligible returned goods. This fee represents liquidated damages for administrative processing, labor, and the diminished marketability of the item once it has left our custody.

  • Disclosure: Per California law, this policy is binding as it is clearly posted at the point of sale and on our digital platforms (Chau, 2019).

3. Unclaimed Property & Storage Fees

Items left in the possession of Ralph’s Jewelers are subject to the following terms regarding storage and abandonment:

  • Storage Fees: Any item(s) left for more than 30 days following notification of completion will be subject to a daily storage and insurance fee of $10.00 – $25.00.

  • Notice of Abandonment: Items not claimed within 30 days of completion are considered "Abandoned Property."

  • Liability: Under California Civil Code §§ 2080-2080.3, Ralph’s Jewelers assumes no liability for the loss, damage, or destruction of abandoned items. Following the 30-day period, the company reserves the right to dispose of or sell the property at its discretion to recover costs.
